Virginia “Ginny” Macdonald

July 4, 1935 — January 7, 2023

Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Macdonald, age 87, passed away on January 7, 2023, after a brief illness. Ginny attended Drake University and worked at the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa. Ginny had many passions in her life. She loved to travel, play cards (Bridge/Euchre/500), live theater, politics, music, photography, nature, sports, and flashlights. Ginny was a member of St. Louis Church since 1967. She served on many committees and was a Eucharistic Minister. Ginny was voted in as a Nimishillen Township Trustee at the age of 60 and tirelessly served the community for 8 years. Ginny had an insatiable curiosity for learning- you could always find her with a book or googling various topics. Ginny loved life and was always moving forward with a positive spirit and a smile on her face.

Ginny is survived by 4 daughters, Cindy (Dan), Lori (Doug), Mary Jo (Paul), Amy (Joe) and 4 sons, Dan (Ann), John (Theresa), Dave and Jim. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, Cameron, Taylor, Elizabeth, Joseph, Nikki, Alexa, Dan, Ashley, Matthew, Jake, Sam, Julia, Josh, Jenna, and Katelyn; 9 great-grandchildren, Brooks, Christian, Raymond, Nicholas, Daniel, Juliette, Madison, Zeke, and Zoe; sister, Margo, and many nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan, in 1986.
