Thomas Jay McKnight, 72 went to be with his Lord on April 30, 2024, with his beloved wife of nearly 19 years, Joyce Harper at his side. They were married on May 25, 2006.
Tom was born August 17, 1951, in Canton, Ohio. He graduated from Timken High School in 1970. Tom spent 30 years at the Timken Company’s Steel Division working in a wide range of capacities. He found joy and fulfillment in retirement. He could be found in his barn tinkering, repairing, and creating. He loved mowing his own lawn, neighbors’ lawns, and other yard work. Tom was known as the “fudge man,” making incredible batches of fudge which he shared at Christmastime with many friends and family. His compensation was the many smiles and expressions of delight by the recipients. He and Joyce enjoyed doing things together, including planting flowers, going to plays, and spending time with one another. They enjoyed numerous vacation adventures as well as extended family visits to their home.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Harper; son, Michael (Holly) of Louisville, Ohio; daughter, Lori Culler of Canton; brother, Timothy McKnight (Gayle) of Louisville; brother, David McKnight (Carolyn) of Louisville; sister, Penny Prather of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews as well as five grandchildren: Peyton and Haley McKnight; Rachael, Katie, and Raymond Culler; and three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Bodhi, and Sophia.
The family would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses at Seidman Cancer Center and the wonderful staff of Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 3 at First Baptist Church, Canton. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home of Louisville oversees arrangements. Condolences and special memories of Tom can be shared with his family online at www.paqueletfalk.com
