Steven Hostetler

Steve Hostetler, 68, of Marlboro Township passed away unexpectedly, early Saturday morning. He was a graduate of Marlington High School, and although he spent a few years in West Palm Beach, Florida, to start his family, he soon returned to his hometown. He found joy in family gatherings, especially during the 4th of July. His favorite past times were playing the annual Hostetler Volleyball games, and spiking the ball in his opponent’s face, playing the most intense games of euchre, gathered around the table in his dining room, and setting off a massive amount of fireworks in the backyard with his brothers.

 He was a hard worker, spending numerous years with BWXT, Canton Drop Forge, Pratt & Whitney, and running his own spouting company. He was also a patriot who loved his country, dedicating his early years to the United States Army, but one of his best qualities was his devotion to his family. He was one of seven children, a father, grandfather, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews, who all adored him. 

Steve was born October 5th, 1956, to the late Vernon and Theresa (Laubacher) Hostetler, in Canton, Ohio. He is survived by his grandchildren, Daylen Burkhart, Maya and Hayley Petrusek, daughters, Gabrielle Hostetler and Breanna (Shawn) Petrusek, sister, Linda (John) Perez, and brothers, Tim Hostetler, Jeff (Fatima) Hostetler, Mike (Reynne) Hostetler, Phil (Laurie) Hostetler, and Ron Hostetler.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 6:00-8:00pm at Paquelet Falk Funeral Home and again from 12:00pm on Thursday with services beginning at 1:00pm.
