Mindy J. (Perry) Shilling, age 55, of Plain Township passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2020. She was born March 25, 1965 in Canton, Ohio to Richard and Esther Perry. Mindy was a 1983 graduate of Louisville High School. She spent over 35 years working at her family’s business, Perry T-Shirts and was most recently employed by Hallmark as a Territory Manager. Mindy’s loving, outgoing and fun personality made her a great friend to everyone she encountered. She loved spending time with family and her special neighborhood friends. On the weekends you could find her enjoying her husband’s band, The Old School Rockers. Mindy was the best wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend; her kind heart, beautiful eyes and gorgeous smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Mindy is preceded in death by her mother, Esther Perry; sister, Gina Holbrook; mother-in-law, Patricia Shilling; and father-in-law, Harry Shilling.
Mindy is survived by her husband and best friend of 30 years, Ted Shilling; son, Brian (Jaclyn) Shilling; father, Richard Perry, Sr; brother, Richard (Sharon) Perry, Jr; sister-in-law, Sheri (Bob) Hatherill; special nephew and nieces, Shannon, Dustin, Abby, Stephanie, and Sarah; 10 great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and very special friends, Troy and Marti.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 -1:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2020, at The Easton Chapel, 3906 Easton St. NE, Canton, Ohio 44721. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm. Social distancing and facial coverings will be required. Entombment will immediately follow at North Lawn Cemetery in Canton. Mindy I’m such a loss for words… I will miss your laughter, your kindness and all the fun times we still had coming to us.. I will always treasure our pajama overnighters as we called them lol with you and Ted.. I still see me and you on my front porch just talking about everything when the guys fell asleep, you are and always will be in my heart and I promise you that Jody and I will always be there for Ted and Brian… my beautiful friend I love you and till we meet again❤️

I was stunned to hear of the passing of Mindy. I was her 6th grade teacher at North Nim. in my second year of teaching and I have such great memories of her. She was such a nice girl. I saw her probably 10 years ago or so and we talked about the old days and just had a nice visit. Mindy’s family has my deepest sympathy at this very sad time.
I did not know Mindy very well in high school but I got a chance to see her again at a small classmates reunion one evening. I hardly knew anybody there and she went out of her way to make me feel welcome. By the end of the evening I felt like we were best friends. She was such a sweet and caring person. She would always stop and talk whenever I saw her after that. My deepest sympathies goes out to her family.
I’m so sorry for your loss. We were friends since school and done alot of things together growing up. She was a beautiful, amazing, caring person. She loved her family and friends very much. Mindy you was definitely taken away from us way to soon and will always remember the memories we had. I know you’ll always be watching over the loves of your life and until we meet again..

It’s taken me a few weeks to reconcile Mindy’s passing. I had the honor of leading Mindy for 3 years and in that time I was able to witness her deep compassion, her infectious smile and her HUGE heart.
A wonderful, courageous, loving, beautiful soul l who will be deeply missed.
