Lacy Marie Mathess age 31 of Canton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly September 2, 2021, due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Lacy loved her family and taking care of people as an STNA. She was an avid outdoorswoman, hunting, fishing and camping. She was a member of H & H Hunt Club of West Virginia and camped often with her family at Pride Valley Campground in Malvern. Lacy loved her plants, especially sunflowers. She loved cooking and watching the Food Network. Lacy was young, free-spirited with lots of positive energy and love to give.
Lacy is preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfather, Arnold Mathess; paternal grandmother, Earlene Mathess and Christine McCrae.
Lacy leaves behind her father, Jefferson (Lisa) Mathess; mother (that raised her), Rebecca Mathess; biological mother, Billie Jo Smith; siblings, Jefferson (LJ) Mathess, Leslie Marie Mathess, Brandon William Mathess, Isiah Thomas Pahlau-Mathess; nephews, Ka’marr Mathess and Brycen Mathess; nieces, Ka’Mari Mathess and Baby Girl (unborn) Mathess; maternal grandparents, Sheryl and Thomas Rybkoski; paternal grandparents Fred and Stephanie McCrae; aunts, Sherry, Lindsey and Jamie; uncles, Paul, Gary, Justin, Steven; many cousins and other extend family members.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 5-7pm at Paquelet Falk Funeral Home. Those attending the services are asked to please wear a proper protective mask and practice safe distancing requirements. Services will begin immediately after visitation with Pastor Barry Carter from the Cathedral of Life Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the funeral home to help offset costs of Lacy’s final arrangements.
