James “Doc” Howard Dougherty

James “Doc” Howard Dougherty , age 79,  passed away after a brief illness at the Alliance-Aultman Community Care Center on Friday  October 7, 2022. James was born on July 12, 1943 in Woodsfield Ohio, son of the late James and Genevieve “Peggy” Dougherty. He worked at the Timken Company for 35 years and  was a member of St Louis Catholic church in Louisville. Doc was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He maintained many  friendships over the years, enjoyed watching westerns, and sitting outside in the front yard.  Doc loved his grandsons, and always looked forward to watching them play football, basketball, and spending time teaching them about guns, motorcycles, and using tools.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandy Dougherty; son, CJ and ReChelle Dougherty and their sons Camden and Colton of Louisville; his sister, Bonnie and Joe Bosler of Louisville;  brother, Richard and Debbie Dougherty of Uniontown; and sister, Nancy Taylor of Louisville. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Peggy Dougherty, brother, Dennis Dougherty, and sister, Joyce Shocking.

A Mass  of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Louis Catholic Church with Father Miller on October 13, 2022 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at the St Louis cemetery. Friends and family may call Wednesday, from  5-7:00 p.m. on October 12, 2022  at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

    Doc it doesn’t seem possible your gone … I’ve known and loved you a long time we were just kids when my sister and you met … you were both crazy about each other and it lasted forever … we shared a birthday and you always said I love you when we talked on the phone ..and always said you pray for me … Sandy and you had a loving ., kind and endearing marriage … you will always be loved and miss .. your with the angels now waiting for Sandy some day ..
