Georgianna “Georgie” McCormick, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2019 in Louisville, Ohio. Georgianna was the devoted wife of the late William A. McCormick and loving mother of George W. McCormick and spent most of their entire family life in Louisville. She was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School Class of 1958. Georgianna went to Gerber cosmetology school where she met her lifelong friend Helen Colagrande and eventually was introduced to her future husband, William (Bill). She grew up in Canton, Ohio where she met another life-long friend, Pandorea “Pitsa” Vidakitis, who now resides in Hollywood, California. Georgianna and family enjoyed, and cherished time spent over the holidays, birthdays, and celebrations with her friend Helen and her family: Fonda, Mary and Jack, Paula, and Grandma and Grandpa. Georgianna was a dedicated worker for Hoover, Ecko and Amster-Kirtz. She was a lover of animals (especially her beloved cats). Georgie was always out and about. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved taking family trips to Virginia Beach. Georgianna has reunited with Bill and is no doubt wearing her trademark grin as she is dragging him on an endless shopping trip!
Georgianna is survived by her son George W. McCormick of Louisville; two sisters, Sandra K. Rich of Canton, and Debbie L. (Pat) Riley of Naples, Florida and her two children, Jena (Craig) Ford of Columbus and their son Elliot, and Brendan Riley of Chicago. Georgianna will also be lovingly remembered by her husband’s large extended family including sisters-in-law: Margaret Shavers, Twila Fano, Ann Haring-McCormick. Very special thanks go out to Sherry and Denny Shaffer, Cindy and Bill Priest and son Jim for their help at the residence. Also, thanks go to Penny (Curt) Roan, and Ed McCormick. Nancy McCormick, Linnie Butler, Lori Rapp, Jane Petry, and Beverly and Larry Anthony; and friends: Helen Colagrande, Paula Winn, Fonda St. Paul-Passman, Pitsa Vidakitis, Scott Bugno, and Hilda Taft.
