Dorus Junior Decker, age 88, passed away Thursday January 30, 2025 at St. Joseph's Care Center.
Dorus was born January 4, 1937 to Dorus August and Estella Marguerite (Miller) Decker (deceased) in Lowell Ohio. He worked for and retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years where he applied his carpentry and welding trade skills. Dorus was married 70 years to his high school sweetheart, Ruth Ann (Warner) Decker in St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Harriettsville Oho, and together moved to this area and were members of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville Ohio.
Dorus is survived by his wife Ruth and four children; Dwight (Rebecca) Decker of Louisville Ohio, Roxane (Steven) Paquelet of Murphy NC, Steven (Kimberly) Decker of Canton Ohio, and Tony Decker of Louisville Ohio. Dorus had six sisters (now deceased), all from Ohio. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 2nd, at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home at 303 S. Chapel St. Louisville, Ohio. The Funeral will be held Monday February, 3rd, 11:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church at 300 N. Chapel St., Louisville, Ohio followed by a short service at the cemetery. Plans for a post-funeral luncheon have not yet been finalized. In lieu of flowers any donations can be made to St Jude, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929, or to Saint Louis Catholic Church.
