Christopher Lee Brogan

October 23, 1987 — November 24, 2023

Louisville

Christopher Lee Brogan, born October 23, 1987, left this world unexpectedly on November 24, 2023. Christopher was unapologetically himself, driven by an artistic passion to create and embody the world around him. His authenticity was a magnet to the people in his life, and his sense of humor was infectious (and very much his own).

Christopher was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His artwork still hangs in Wilson Hall, where he touched many lives supporting others on their journey through recovery. Christopher was viewed as an upstanding member of the recovery community, and a fine example for his resilience and commitment to his own recovery. He practiced daily meditation, attended weekly meetings and was always there for his recovery family, doing this for himself and the support of those also in recovery.

Christopher loved his Honda cars and was known to drive across state lines for a used part. This passion was also reflected in his love of the family tree business, where he worked side by side with his father. He was a huge part of the success of the business, where he was always working on vehicles at the farm or operating the crane at a job site. He loved to “tinker” with his vehicles as passion projects, the same way he loved to get lost in his video games and give them his undivided attention. Christopher had a strong bond with his mother, and they enjoyed traveling together and meaningful conversations on every subject. Spending time with him was a joy. Hanging out with his brothers was also one of his favorite things to do.

Christopher was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. His memory lives on in our hearts, his music, his many paintings, and the memories he imprinted on so many people. He will also be missed by Winston the cat.

Preceded in death by brother, Eric Brogan, paternal grandparents, Stepania and Paul Brogan, maternal grandmother, Susan A Stevens, aunt, Cindy Brogan and uncle, Bruce A Stevens.

He is survived by parents Don (Jeanne) Brogan and Natalie R Lipkins; siblings, Gabriel, Elijah and Isaac Lipkins, and Kassi Slater; grandfather Bruce R Stevens; aunts and uncles Paul Dave Brogan, Larry Brogan, Stephanie M Belford, Brian R (Christy) Stevens and Nathan A (Kelly) Stevens; cousin John Brogan and his son Victor Brogan, Bruce W Stevens, Rachel Stevens, Jordan (Emily) Stevens, Cody (Tiffani) Belford, Branigan Belford, Emma Belford, Joslyn Stevens, Sydney Stevens and Allison Stevens; beloved friends Chad Johnston, Danny Horn, Ian Keller, Max Vogt, Nick Bence; and many other friends and community members.
